I’m a 29-year-old mum to an amazing 3-year-old daughter who has a rare condition called Coffin–Siris Syndrome. Her condition brings many challenges, including developmental delays and epilepsy, but she inspires me every single day with her strength and resilience. Before becoming a mum, I worked in retail from the age of 17 and progressed into management roles. I always planned to return to my career, but the number of appointments, therapies, and support my daughter needs made it impossible to balance a full-time management role with being the parent and advocate she deserves. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to leave my job so I could fully support her, especially as we began the EHCP process to ensure she gets the education that’s right for her. In July, I realised that in order to keep her in nursery — something that helps her development so much — I needed a job that could fit around her, not the other way around. After many failed job applications due to my flexibility. That’s when I took the leap into self-employment, and Scoops & Scoops was born. What started as a flexible way to work around my daughter’s needs has grown into something I’m truly passionate about. Every order supports not just a small business, but a mum navigating a unique journey while building a future for her little girl. Thank you for being here and supporting us — it genuinely means the world.
